Kenmare Shamrocks 1-14 | Ballyduff 1-17
Our Minor footballers produced a spirited second-half comeback but ultimately fell just short against Ballyduff in the Minor Club Championship Group 3 Final in Milltown yesterday.
Ballyduff dominated the opening half and went into the break with a commanding 1-12 to 0-04 lead. However, the Shamrocks showed tremendous determination after halftime and gradually worked their way back into the contest with a determined and disciplined performance.
A late goal from Colm Cronin reignited hopes and brought Kenmare to within two points, setting up a tense finish where the outcome remained in doubt. Despite the strong rally, Ballyduff managed to steady themselves in the closing stages and held on to secure a three-point victory.
While the result did not go Kenmare’s way, the character and resilience shown by the team in the second half were a credit to the players and management.
